    LHRT General safety instructions Foreword Before putting the 2-wheel tractor into operation, it is absolutely essential to read and follow the instructions regarding appropriate use, the operating manual and the safety instructions as well as the operating manuals for the attached devices operated with the 2-wheel tractor!     LHR-2 Operation the choke knob slowly back to the operating position if it has been pulled out. Also refer to the engine manufacturer’s operating manual regarding this point. In the case of a diesel engine, attention must be paid to the start direction according to the engine manufacturer! Switching the engine off: First release the clutch/safety stop lever, and then switch the engine off.

    LHR-2 Operation Power take-off engagement/disengagement The speed-independent power take-off can be disengaged and has a PTO speed of 960 rpm at an engine speed of 3.600 rpm. The power take-off is engaged/disengaged with shift lever D, which is located on the right-hand steering shaft.
  • Page 24 LHR-2 Operation The power take-off can only be engaged if the power take-off lever can be pulled easily to the rear. If it blocks, the clutch/safety stop lever must be released and depressed a few times at a low engine speed until the power take-off can be engaged easily without force. Apart from that, it is important to remember that the power take-off may only be engaged when the clutch/safety stop lever is not depressed.

    Operation Stationary wheel lock Luchs Hydro LHR-2 is equipped with a stationary wheel lock. You should always use this when the engine is stopped and/or the terrain is steep. Do not use it while driving, as other- wise damage can occur.

    LHR-2 Operation Engine There is a choice of four-stroke petrol engines for lead-free normal petrol, or four-stroke diesel motors, which may only be operated with pure diesel oil. During the first 20 hours of operation (the running-in period) the engine should not be operated up to its performance limit.

    LHR-2 Operation Throttle lever The throttle lever is located on the right-hand steering shaft (see fig. 23). Please ensure that it is adjusted correctly in accor- dance with the engine manufacturer’s operating man- ual.   • Page 35 LHR-2 Maintenance General instructions for working on hydraulic systems For reasons of safety, hose and pipe joints, connections and devices may not be loosened when the system is under pressure. Before doing so, the engine must be switched off and the pressure accumulator relieved. If the machine was in operation for a long period before maintenance, the oil and oil con- tainer are very hot!! Before undoing screw connections, the surrounding area must be cleaned.
  • Page 36 LHR-2 Maintenance Changing the hydraulic drive oil - technical personnel only The oil filter must be replaced after the first 25 hours of operating and after that every 100 hours of operation. The service should be carried by an authorised workshop.

  • Page 39 LHR-2 Maintenance The clutch is actuated via the clutch/safety stop lever. The clutch is disengaged when the lever is not depressed, i.e. the engine does not propel the ma- chine and the hydraulic drive is blocked (see fig. 37), the engine continues to run. In order to avoid slippage of the clutch during work, the play and spring tension of the clutch lever are adjusted in the factory (see fig.

Never reach into the crushing danger zone if parts can still move there. • The tyre pressures must be checked regularly. • In particular, it must be ensured that the tyre pressures of both wheels are equal in order to guarantee effortless driving.

    LHR-2 Appendix Appendix Lubricants / adhesives Use the specified lubricants for the gearbox (see ‘Technical data’). We recommend the use of anti-corrosion agents to preserve the machine and devices. Do not use for painted outer panels; anti-corrosion agents can be applied using a brush or a spray device. When applying adhesives (for the locking of screws) and sealing compounds, both adhesive and sealing surfaces must be clean and free of grease.
