Welcome Firstly, thank you for purchasing your Trilogy Audio Systems 907 Phono Stage, we value your custom. We strive to design and build world class products that stand the test of time. By reading this manual you can gain clear understanding of its operation and learn to care for it correctly.
However, we still recommend that you read through this manual thoroughly and keep it to hand for reference. Should any part of this manual or the operation of the 907 not be clear to you, please do not hesitate to contact your Trilogy dealer.
Contact your dealer to arrange an inspection before further use. The 907 generates some heat and is cooled by convection. It needs good circulation of room temperature air under and around it. Do not place either unit near sources of heat such as radiators or in direct sunlight. Do not enclose in a cupboard.
Configuration It is necessary to configure the 907 for use with your chosen phono cartridge before placing and connecting the 907 to your system. The base of the Phono Preamplifier provides access to a number of switches for this purpose. Your phono cartridge will have an optimum working load which should be provided by the cartridge manufacturer. It is expressed in resistance (R or Ohms) and capacitance (pF or pico Farads). It will also require a specific gain setting depending on its type and output level.
200pF 320pF 420pF Resistance setting: Resistance R1 Position R2 Position R3 Position R4 Position required 47 KOhms 1K75 Ohms 1K Ohms 650 Ohms 400 Ohms 330 Ohms 250 Ohms 100 Ohms 70 Ohms IMPORTANT! If you do make changes to the configuration whilst the unit is powered, mute the connected amplifier to avoid damage to your loudspeakers. 907/um/20042014...
“cartridge”. Red denotes the right channel, white or black denotes the left channel. The 907 outputs should be connected to a suitable preamplifier. Double check left and right channels are connected correctly. If a turntable arm earth connection is provided, it can be connected to the earth binding post between the sockets. Other arm cable connector types will require an adaptor; seek advice from your Trilogy dealer. Connect the captive cable on the Phono Preamplifier to the socket on the Power Supply. 907/um/20042014...
The IEC inlet on the Power Supply provides the unit with power. Connect with the supplied AC input cable. It can be left connected at all times. If the 907 is not being used for extended periods of time, switch off at the mains outlet.
As with all high resolution audio equipment, a period of break in is required before the unit will achieve its full performance potential. As the 907 consumes little power, we recommend leaving it powered permanently for optimum performance. The Preamplifier will become warm to the touch after a period of time, this is normal and does not indicate a fault condition.
Servicing Your 907 has been designed to provide a lifetime of reliable service and should not need servicing if operating normally. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Do not open or attempt to repair the unit. Check if the captive DC cable is damaged or shows signs of wear periodically.
Series Voltage A circuit which provides a constant voltage for a load using a control element in line Regulator with the power rail and the load. 907/um/20042014...
Returns Should it be necessary for your 907 to be serviced, please send it in the original packaging to your dealer. If this is not possible please contact us directly and request a Return Authorisation Number. Please mark this RAN number on the outer packaging in the space provided.
