Getting Started
Install Batteries
Bottom View
Note: batteries should only be installed or removed by an adult.
1. Open battery compartment door located on the bottom
of the unit.
2. Insert 3 new "AAA" (LR03) alkaline batteries
3. Make sure batteries match the + and – as indicated in
the battery compartment diagram.
For the Best Possible Performance
• We recommend the use of alkaline batteries for longer life.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or
rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Batteries are to be inserted with correct polarity.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the unit.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove the rechargeable batteries from the unit before
charging.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• Batteries should be removed if the item will not be used
for an extended period of time, such as a month or
longer, to prevent battery leakage or damage.
• Rechargeable batteries should only be charged under
adult supervision.
Remove Demo Tab
The Word Web has a demo tab for in-store demonstration
purposes. Make sure to remove this tab. To do so, gently
pull on tab. Dispose of tab properly.

To begin playing with the Spider-Man
Spider Smart Word
Web, press the Power button. To save batteries, the unit
will power off automatically if no button is pressed in 5
minutes. To turn unit OFF, press the Power button.
Login
Whenever you turn on the unit, you will be asked to enter
your name. Press UP or DOWN on the Directional Pad
to highlight a letter (hold for rapid selection), then press the
Enter Button to confirm. To go back over/delete a letter,
press the Go Back button. When you're finished entering
your login name, press the Mode button.
Using Your Word Web
Translate Press
Translate during games or activities to
translate words and numbers into
Spanish
Enter Button
Press the Enter Button to confirm
selections and answers
Mode
Press the Mode Button to cycle to a
desired mode.
On/Off Button
Press to turn unit ON or OFF.
Go Back
Press Go Back/Clear to exit the
current activity or question and access
the activity menu, or to clear an
answer/entry
Directional Pad
Press a direction on the Directional
Pad to highlight menu items, move the
cursor, select letters and numbers and
control motion during activities.
Reset Button
Reset the unit
Answering Questions
During play, you may be asked if you wish to do something.
To answer, press the Directional Pad to highlight "YES"
or "NO" then press the Enter Button.

recapture the villains by completing
activities in each zone.
ZONES
Press the Mode Button to highlight
a Zone and press the Enter Button.
There are 6 zones, each with several
fun learning activities. Remember,
there are villains hiding in the computer, so make sure to
complete all the activities to capture them!
Note: If no button is pressed/selection is made in a few
minutes, the mode will exit and the unit will shut down
ACTIVITIES
Once you select a Zone, you'll see
the activities for that zone listed on
a menu.
To choose an activity, press UP or
DOWN on the Directional Pad to
highlight it, then press the Enter
Button to select. Follow instructions from Spider-Man
complete each activity. There are multiple skill levels for
each activity. Press UP or DOWN on the Directional Pad
to highlight the desired level, then press the Enter Button
to select. To exit an activity at any time, press the Mode
Button to select another mode or press the Go Back
trigger button.
Use the Directional Button (up,
down, left and right) to:
• Move the cursor
• Select letters or numbers (hold for
rapid select)
• Highlight items/ make selections
• Control games
Use the Enter Button to:
• Enter/Confirm selections/answers

PROPER CARE
• Keep water, sand, and dirt off this toy.
• This toy can be wiped clean using a damp cloth.
• Keep this toy away from direct sunlight and excessive
heat.
• Do not drop this toy on a hard surface.
• This toy has no consumer-serviceable parts. Do not take
this toy apart.

Troubleshooting
If improper operation occurs, press the Reset Button located
on the back of the unit.
If the toy still does not play, check the batteries. It is most
likely weak batteries, and you'll need to replace them with
new batteries.
If the unit still does not work after changing the batteries,
make sure you have installed them properly, with the + and
– polarities matched up with the diagram printed inside the
battery compartment.
If there is a distorted or fuzzy sound, the batteries may be
weak. Replace with new batteries.
If problems persist, do not attempt to repair the toy
yourself. See the warranty for factory service information.
