Section 5: Fuel System

Fuel Tank Removal

Refer to Figure 5-7:
1. Chock wheels to secure mower and prevent
movement while repairs are made.
2. Disconnect battery to prevent accidental shock. See
"Battery Assembly Removal" on page 22.
3. For ease of access, remove the seat assembly.
See"Seat and Latch Removal" on page 13.
4. Drain and disconnect the fuel line from the fuel tank
outlet. See "Fuel Valve and Hose Removal" on
page 27.
NOTE: For removal of the right hand fuel tank it will
be necessary to remove the control panel. See
"Control Panel Removal" on page 11.
Refer to Figure 5-8:
5. Loosen and remove the lower inside fuel tank bolt
located just above the fuel tank outlet.
6. Loosen and remove the two upper fuel tank bolts that
secure the fuel tank to the upper pedestal base.
Refer to Figure 5-9:
7. Loosen the three fuel tank rest bolts from the bottom
of the fuel tank. For ease of access remove the rear
drive wheel. See "Rear Drive Wheel Removal" on
page 35.
8. Lift the front of the fuel tank and pull out slightly to
remove the fuel tank outlet from the frame and
remove the fuel tank.
