TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Possible Cause
Station not tuned properly for
AM or FM.
FM: Wire Antenna is not fully
extended or uncoiled.
AM: Unit is not positioned
correctly.
Band switch not on AM or FM.
Volume at minimum.
FUNCTION switch not set to TAPE.
Volume at minimum.
Dirty head.
Tape old.
Cassette tape worn out.
Erase prevention tab removed.
Defective tape or dirty tape head.
FUNCTION switch not set to CD.
CD is not installed or installed
upside-down.
Disc is dirty or scratched.
Power cord disconnected.
Solution
Retune the AM or FM broadcast
station.
Extend Wire Antenna.
Rotate unit until best reception is
obtained.
Slide to select AM or FM .
Increase volume.
Slide to the TAPE position.
Increase volume.
Clean the head.
Replace the tape.
Replace the tape.
Cover hole with adhesive tape.
Replace tape or clean tape head.
Slide to the CD position.
Insert CD with label side up.
Wipe disc with cloth or use
another disc.
Connect power cord.
