Keep work area clean and well lit. Messy areas and cluttered workbenches invite personal injury and/or property damage. Clear all work areas of unneces- sary tools, debris, furniture, etc. Make sure the work area is well ventilated. Never operate in an enclosed area. Do not place objects on top or against the tool.
Keep protective guards in place and in proper working condition. Maintain tools and equipment with care. They will function better and more safely when kept clean and in good working condition. Keeping the tool clean, dry, and free of grime will add to its life and performance. Do not use the tool for applications other than specified.
Using a generator indoors WILL KILL YOU IN MINUTES. DANGER Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas you cannot see or smell. NEVER use in the home or ONLY use outdoors and far in partly enclosed areas from open windows, doors, such as garages.
• DO NOT overfill petrol tank. Leave ample space for expansion of petrol. • DO NOT start engine in area of petrol spillage. Fire and explosion can occur. • Keep petrol away from sparks, open flames, pilot lights, heat and other igni- tion sources.
Do not contact muffler area with engine running. Muffler gets extremely hot and can cause severe burns. Exhaust gases can ignite combustible items such as clothing or structures in close proximity. Gases leaking from worn muffler can heat up and damage petrol tank resulting in fire or explosion.
TRANSPORTING OR REPAIRING EQUIPMENT RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE WHEN TRANSPORTING GENERATOR Turn off the generator before transport. Use caution when moving the genera- tor. Oil/Petrol can leak or spill and could result in fire or breathing hazard, serious injury or death. Oil/Petrol leaks will damage carpet, paint, or other surfaces in vehi- cles or trailers.
SAFETY RULES FOR GENERATORS Do not operate the generator in explosive areas, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Generators can cre- ate sparks which could ignite the dust or fumes. Never use the generator in damp or wet locations. Wear proper apparel.

RISK OF INJURY High voltage is used in the operation of this equipment. Death on contact may result if safety precautions are not observed. Whenever possible, keep one hand from touching equipment to reduce the hazard of dangerous current flowing through vital organs of the body. Do not be misled by the term low voltage.
Page 16
RISK OF FALLING Portable generators can fall from a table, workbench, or roof causing damage to the generator and could result in serious injury or death to the operator. Always operate generator in a stable and secure position to prevent accidental movement of the unit.

ASSEMBLY This generator requires some assembly and will be ready for use after servicing with manufacturer approved oil and petrol. If you have any problems with the assembly of your generator, please call the generator helpline at 1-888-278-8092. If calling for assistance, please have the model, revision, and serial number from the data tag available.
DO NOT over tighten handles on generator frame. Handles must be allowed to move up and down with ease but not too loose as to rattle during operation of the generator. PREPARING THE PORTABLE GENERATOR Improper treatment of generator can damage internal components and shorten the life of unit.
Place on an even surface to correct this. If engine fails to start, the oil level may not be sufficient to deactivate low oil level sensor. Add oil as described in previous section. ADDING PETROL 1. Move the generator OUTSIDE and place on a flat and level surface. 2.
SYSTEM GROUND Check the National Electrical Code requirements for the frame and external electrical conductive parts of this generator to be properly connected to an approved earth ground. Local electrical codes may also require proper ground- ing of the unit. For this purpose, a GROUNDING TERMINAL is provided on the generator front panel.
5. Peel off and remove “NEUTRAL BONDED TO FRAME” label on the front panel. Store the label for future use. 6. When the generator is removed from the buildings electrical system the neutral bon wire must be reconnected. HOUR METER This meter displays the values for engine total running time (in the life of the generator).
6. Turn the Engine ON/OFF switch to ON position. 7. To start the engine, pull Starter cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to avoid kick back. Repeat until engine starts to run. 8. Slide the Choke Lever to “RUN” (right) position. •...
Plugs NOT INCLUDED with generator. Outlets may be marked with rating value greater than generator capacity. Never attempt to power a device requiring more amperage than generator or extension cord can supply. Do not overload genera- tor because of risk of damage to equipment, fire or explosion. Generators vibrate in normal use.

Engine components should be kept clean reducing risk of overheating and ignition of accumulated debris. • Use a damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean. • Use a soft bristle brush to loosen caked on dirt or oil. • Use a shop-vacuum to pick up any loose dirt and debris. Do not use water or other liquids to clean generator.
Unintentional sparking can cause fire or electrical shock. Failure to observe this warning can cause severe property damage, severe burns and even death. Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and cover tip of spark plug wire with insulating tape and place wire where it cannot come in contact with spark plug or generator frame.
