    Foreword Thank you for choosing Ridley Motorcycles. We hope you are satisfied with your new motorcycle. We have used the best products and designs in each of our motorcycles to ensure the great American look, style, feel and function are the finest on the road! Our motorcycles, as with most equipment, require a certain amount of maintenance to ensure the life of your new motorcycle.

    AUTO-GLIDE Classic & TT Models QUICK START This portion of the “owner’s manual” is for reference only and should be used only after thoroughly reviewing the entire “owners manual”. GAUGES AND CONTROLS KEY SWITCH The key is located on the right side of the motorcycle, on the battery box. They key switch has three positions. The first position is the off position (turned counter-clock wise).
  • Page 9 Never place then upside down when off the tank. The Left Side Gas Cap is Non-Vented. The Ridley Side Gas Cap is Vented. The caps are side specific and cannot be crossed. ATTENTION: To remove gas caps: The left gas cap is removed opposite the right gas cap. Twist left cap clock- wise to remove and counter-clockwise to tighten.
  • Page 10 The letters TRP will flash on the display followed by the indicated trip distance. To indicate the Battery Voltage, press the TRIP button twice. The letters BAT will flash on the display followed by the battery Voltage. (The motorcycle odometer reading is shown when the motorcycle’s key switch is ON and the RUN/STOP switch is first pressed from STOP to RUN.) The total mileage on the motorcycle will scroll across the display.
  • Page 11 IDLE ADJUSTMENT The idle adjustment is located on the carburetor under the right side of the gas tank. It is a white knob that is pointing down and forward. Turning this knob clockwise (Facing the knob) will increase the idle RPM. ATTENTION: ALWAYS ADJUST THE IDLE WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND POSITIONED ON THE MOTORCYCLE WITH HANDS ON THE BRAKES.

    SAFETY COURSE Because our motorcycles remove many of the complex operating features required by manual transmission motorcycles, many new and first time riders choose Ridley. For that reason, Ridley highly recommends that all riders take a certified motorcycle safety course.

  • Page 14 The rear shocks can be adjusted to raise or lower the ride height of the rear of the motorcycle. If the height is too low the chain may hit the chain guard in severe bump situations. Please contact your Ridley Dealer for instructions.

    TROUBLE SHOOTING The following issues are examples of situations you might face while riding your Ridley Motorcycle. Please review them carefully for full instructions on how to handle each incident in the event you face one of them. SITUATION: Starter won’t engage when start button is pressed.

    All references to “RIGHT” and “LEFT” are with the driver seated in the normal operating position on the motorcycle. Ridley has made every attempt to ensure the information contained in this manual is current and correct.     MODIFICATIONS WARNING : Modifications made to this motorcycle that are not approved by Ridley may cause your motorcycle to be unsafe for use and may cause accidents. This includes the removal of original equipment. Modifications may also make your motorcycle illegal to use On-Road and can void warranty.

    WARNING : Your Ridley Motorcycle was not designed to pull trailers. Pulling a trailer or any object may cause your motorcycle’s handling to malfunction. WARNING : Do not install accessories or carry cargo that changes the design parameters of the motorcycle.

    FUEL WARNING The Ridley 750 V-Twin Auto-Glide engine requires Premium octane fuel. Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Always stop the engine and refuel outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Do not smoke or allow open flames or sparks in or around the area where refueling is performed or where gasoline is stored.

If the display becomes faint or fails to indicate during normal operation, please take your motorcycle to your nearest Ridley Dealer.

Right Turn Signal WARNING: This motorcycle has a centrifugal clutch that engages the automatic transmission. Twisting the throttle grip while stopped will cause the motorcycle to move.

    Over filling may cause overflow when the fuel heats up and expands or when the motorcycle is transported. Be sure the fuel caps are properly installed before riding your new Ridley Motorcycle. IMPORTANT: ALL AUTOMOTIVE PAINT IS AFFECTED BY GASOLINE. RIDLEY MOTORCYCLE HAS TAKEN THE APPROPRIATE STEPS SUGGESTED BY PPG PAINT TO ENSURE THE LONGEVITY OF THIS PAINT.
  • Page 28 Apply each brake for several seconds. Check to see if any fluids leak out of the brake line or and of its components. If any leak is found, take the motorcycle to a Ridley Dealer for repairs. Do not operate the motorcycle if leaks are present.

    Engine Oil The engine lubricant oil is Mobil One 20-50 V-Twin oil. This oil is suitable for year-round motorcycle operation. 1. Oil DIP STICK 2. Oil Fill. WARNING: • The Oil Level must be checked while vehicle is in the upright position off the side stand.

    Make sure the throttle grip operates properly and check the free-play. The grip should return when released. If the throttle does not rotate smoothly to the idle position, the motorcycle should be taken to a Ridley dealer to be adjusted.

If a tire tread shows crosswise lines (minimum tread depth), if the tire has a foreign object, if the sidewall is cracked, contact a Ridley dealer and have the tire replaced. Using a tread depth gauge, measure the tread of the tires. You should have at least 2/32” (1.60 mm) of tread.

    Starting and Warming the Motorcycle Engine This motorcycle is equipped with a centrifugal clutch and an automatic transmission. Twisting the throttle will engage the clutch resulting in movement of the motorcycle. 1. Sit on Motorcycle 2. Pull Choke Lever Out (On) 3.

    WARNING : If you are not familiar with motorcycle service, a qualified Ridley dealer should do this work. Proper periodic maintenance of your motorcycle is important in order to enjoy long-lived pleasurable service.

    Both spark plugs will normally have the same insulator color. The normal color is a medium tan. If for some reason, your spark plugs are coloring different, call your Ridley Dealership for information. Do not attempt to diagnose the problem yourself. Have the dealer determine what is wrong, if anything.
