Page 4 Outdoor Fire Pit Owner’s Manual Terrace Fire Pit, Item #60453 Assembly For easiest assembly: **Locate all parts first, then assemble on a flat, level surface. Make sure the assembly area is large enough to lay out all parts required for assembly. **Follow all steps listed to make sure assembly is complete. Refer to diagram and parts list on Page 3. STEP 1: Turn the Fire Bowl (A) upside down on a flat, level surface. Screw the Legs (B) to the stem located on the Fire Bowl Bottom (A‐1 on A). Turn the Leg clockwise until it clicks into place on the stem. STEP 2: Hold the Foot (E) with rounded side facing up. Insert Bolt (H) through hole in Foot (E) from underside (flat side). Fit tapered end of Spring (J) over the exposed threads of Bolt (H). Then insert the Bolt/Spring assembly into the end of the Leg (B) and screw the Bolt into the Leg. To adjust the Foot of the fire pit, tighten or loosen the Bolt accordingly. This will ensure your fire pit sits level on the ground. STEP 3: Insert the Screw (F) through the hole in Handle (D) and secure with Nut (G). Turn the Fire Bowl to upward position. Place Log Grate (C) into the bottom of the Fire Bowl (A). SCREEN ASSEMBLY Identify the 4 Fire Screen components and lay them out on a flat, level surface. Connect P1 and P2 together using 3 bolts and nuts (Fig. 1). The head of each bolt must be on the OUTSIDE of the screen. Connect P3 and P4 together in the same manner. Note the location and position of the handles on the 2 different assembled halves. Now connect the 2 halves together using 2 bolts and nuts (Fig. 2). The Head of each bolt must face OUT. Failure to follow all instructions and WARNINGS can cause property damage, serious personal injury or death. Operating Instructions Lighting 1. Place a layer of dry kindling or a natural fire starter such as Fatwood™ onto the center of the log grate. 2. Place a layer of dry seasoned hardwood on top of the kindling. Make sure the hardwood is cut in lengths no more than ¾ the diameter of the fire bowl. 3. Use a long match or stick lighter to light the kindling or firestarter. 4. Place the Spark Guard/Firescreen on the bowl by using the Fire Tool provided once the kindling or firestarter is lit. Tending the Fire You may need to shift and/or add logs for the best fire. REMINDERS **Always wear protective gloves or use a pot holder when tending a fire. **Wait until glowing coals have developed before adding any additional wood. **Do NOT add gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lighter fluid or alcohol to relight or enhance an existing fire. 1. Carefully remove the Spark Guard/Firescreen by using the Fire Tool provided. 2. While using the long handled Fire Tool, shift coals and logs to allow additional airflow. 3. It additional wood is required, place wood on top of coals. Be careful not to shift ashes. 4. Replace Spark Guard/Firescreen by using the Fire Tool provided. Extinguishing the Fire 1. Allow the fire to burn itself out. 2. Do NOT use water to extinguish a fire as this is dangerous and can cause damage to the outdoor fire pit. ...
Page 6 Outdoor Fire Pit Owner’s Manual Terrace Fire Pit, Item #60453 Cleaning and Care Inspecting: This outdoor fire pit should be inspected on a regular basis to ensure product safety and longer product life. Do NOT attempt to inspect this outdoor fire pit until the fire is COMPLETELY out and fire pit is COOLED COMPLETELY. 1. Check handle on Spark Guard/Firescreen to make sure it is secure. 2. Check all parts for signs of damage or rust. 3. If you find any damaged parts, do NOT operate until repairs and/or replacement has been done. Cleaning This outdoor fire pit should be cleaned on a regular basis to promote a safer experience and longer product life. NOTE: After repeated use, a slight discoloration of the finish may occur. Do NOT attempt to clean this outdoor fire pit until the fire is COMPLETELY out and the fire pit has cooled completely. Do NOT use oven cleaner or abrasive cleaners as they will damage this product. Do NOT clean any part of this outdoor fire pit in a self cleaning oven as it may damage the finish. 1. Wipe exterior surfaces with a mild dishwashing detergent or baking soda. 2. For stubborn surfaces, use a citrus based degreaser and a nylon scrubbing brush. 3. Rinse with clean water. 4. Remove built‐up creosote from components with a chimney cleaning product. Storage Do NOT move or store this outdoor fire pit until the fire is COMPLETELY out and the fire pit has cooled COMPLETELY. 1. Once the fire is out, coals are cold and outdoor fire pit is cool to the touch, remove ashes and dispose of properly. 2. It is best to cover the outdoor fire pit with a protective vinyl cover (may be purchased separately.) 3. Store assembled in a location away from children and pets. NOTE: If you do not use a protective vinyl cover, store this outdoor fire pit in a dry location to maximize product life. ...
