Connecting with an HDMI (High Defi nition
Multimedia Interface) terminal
HDMI is the next-generation interface for digital devices. When connected to an HDMI compatible
unit, an uncompressed digital audio and video signal is transmitted. You can enjoy high quality,
digital video and audio with just one cord.
• You do not have to connect the included audio/video cable to the television.

Check the following setting in "HDMI Settings" in "Connection" tab in the Setup menu.
 Operating Instructions (page 63)
• "Digital Audio Output" is set to "HDMI and Optical". (The default setting is "HDMI and Optical".)
Control with HDMI (HDAVI Control
What is HDAVI Control?
HDAVI Control is a convenient function that offers linked operations of this unit, and a Panasonic TV (VIERA)
or receiver under HDAVI Control. You can use this function by connecting the equipment with the HDMI
cable.
With HDMI (HDAVI Control) you can:
• Power on link:
The television will automatically turn on when you operate this unit.
• Power off link:
This unit will automatically set to standby mode when you set the television to standby
mode.
