another. For
instance, you can output
sound
from other
instruments, switch
sounds or receive
MIDI
data
fram
an external sequencer
that cause
your
FR-3x to play.
Wh at's MIDI?
MIDI,
short
for "M usical Instrument Digital
Interface",
was
developed as
a
universal standard for exchange
of performance data
wi
th
ex
ternal devices. This con-
nector can be used to connect the FR-3x to an ex ter-
nal devi ce for eve

ty.
Connecting an external MIDI device
to the
FR-
3x
The FR-3x has ane MIDI
socket
that can be used
to
either transmit (OUT) or receive (IN)
MIDI
data.
1.
Turn the volume
all
the way down on the
FR-3x and the MIDI deviee you
are about
to
eonneet.

Us
e
a
MIDI
eable
(sold separately) to
eon-
neet the MIDI soekets to
eaeh other.

(This is the default
setting.)
Set it to
"IN"
to receive
MIDI
data
from an external
device.

Set the MIDI

the FR-3x

needed
.
The FR-3x's
