Check oil levelregularly.

ChangeEngineOil
Gasolineand its vaporsare extremely flammable andexplosive.Fireor
explosioncancausesevereburnsor death.
Change engine oilafter thefirstfivehours ofoperation, and every fifty hours or
once aseason thereafter.
Air Filter
Beforetipping the unit to drain the oil, the fuel tank mustbe empty or fuel
can leakout andresult in a fire or explosion.Toempty the fuel tank, run
the engine until it stopsfrom lackof fuel.
IMPORTANT: Besureto check engineon alevelsurface with theenginestopped.
Drainthe oil whilethe engineisstill warmtoassure rapidandcomplete draining.

Withengineoff but still warm,disconnect the sparkplugwire andkeepit
awayfromthe sparkplug.
2.
Place asuitablecontainer n ext to theengineto catchthe usedoil.
3.
Remove t he drainpluganddrainthe oil intothe container b ytippingthe
enginetowardthe oil fill/dipstick.SeeFigure 18.
Used oil is a hazardous w aste product. Dispose o f usedoil properly. Donot
discardwith household w aste. Checkwith your localauthorities or Sears
ServiceCenter f or safe disposal/recyclingfacilities,

Reinstall the drainplugandtighten it securely.
5.
Refillwith the recommended o il andchecktheoil level. Refer t o the
Operation Section.
Runningthe engine with a low oil level cancauseengine damage.
6.
Reinstall the oil fill dipsticksecurely.
CarbonCanister Filter
Thefoamcarboncanister f ilter mustbecleaned or replaced onceayearor every100
operatinghours.
1.
Afterremoving the outerengineshroud, r emove the nutssecuring the inner
shroudasshownin Figure 19.
2.
Lift up innerengineshroudandcarefullypullout carboncanister f ilter
assembly f rom undershroudasshownin Figure 20.
3.
Remove c apfrom endof canister a ndpullout roundfoamfilter from inside
the assembly. SeeFigure 20.Clean element o r replace whendamaged.
