Warnings and Messages
If a problem is sensed in one of your
vehicle's systems, a warning or mes-
sage will appear in the DIC display (see
your Owner Manual for a complete list of
possible warnings and messages).
After a warning or message appears,
press the
button to clear the display
screen for further use. Remember,
pressing the
button only makes the
message disappear; it does not resolve
the problem.
Note: Your vehicle's warnings and mes-
sages provide critical information that
can prevent damage to your vehicle.
Review your Owner Manual to become
familiar with the information displayed
and the action required.
Check Engine or Other Warning
Lights with OnStar (if equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with OnStar
and your Malfunction Indicator Lamp
(Check Engine Light) illuminates, or any
other warning message appears, you
can press the blue OnStar button and
speak to an OnStar Advisor. In many
vehicles, OnStar Advisors can access
certain diagnostic information and tell
you how serious the condition is and
what you should do about it.
See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.
