The following illustration shows the locations of the drive bays.
The following list describes some of the drives that you can install in each bay and
their height requirements:
1 Bay 1 - Maximum height: 25.8 mm (1.0 in.)
2 Bay 2 - Maximum height: 43.0 mm (1.7 in.)
3 Bay 3 - Maximum height: 43.0 mm (1.7 in.)
4 Bay 4 - Maximum height: 25.8 mm (1.0 in.)
* You can obtain a Universal Adapter Bracket, 5.25 to 3.5-inch, from a local computer retailer
or by contacting the Customer Support Center.
Notes:
1. Drives that are greater than 43.0 mm (1.7 in.) high cannot be installed.
2. Install removable media (tape or CD) drives in an accessible bay (bay 2 or 3).

Installing a drive

To install an internal drive, follow these steps:
1. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the cover" on page 10.
2. If your computer has an optical drive, you might need to remove the signal
and power cables from the drive.
3. If the drive you are installing is a removable-media drive, remove the bay
panel from the front bezel.
3.5-inch diskette drive (preinstalled in
some models)
v Optical drive such as CD drive or
DVD drive (preinstalled in some
models)
v 3.5-inch hard disk drive (requires a
Universal Adapter Bracket, 5.25 to
3.5-inch) *
v 5.25-inch removable media drive

3.5-inch) *
v 5.25-inch removable media drive
