Adding Water to the Battery
Refer to Safety Precautions on page 54 .
Make sure you are wearing eye protection
before starting this procedure.
I. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal
lead from the battery. Then disconnect
the positive (+) terminal lead.
2. Remove the battery filler cap.
3. Using a small syringe, plastic funnel, or
hydrometer, carefully add distilled
water to the upper level mark. (Tap
water will shorten the service life of the
battery.)
Use care when adding distilled water
and immediately wash off any spilled
fluid.
