surround sound, select "SMALL" to activate
the bass redirection circuitry and output the
bass frequencies of each channel from the
sub woofer or other "'LARGE" speakers.
Tips
oThe "LARGE" and "SMALL" settings for each
speaker determine whether the internal sound
processor wi II cut thc bass signal from that
channcl.
When the bass is cut from a channel. the bass
redirection circuitry sends the corresponding bass
frequcncies to thc sub woofcr or other "LARGE"
speakcrs.
However. sincc bass sound has a certain amount of
directionality. it is best not to cut it. if possible.
Thereforc. evcn whcn using small speakers. you
can sct them to "LARGE" if you want to output thc
bass frequencies from that speaker. On the other
hand. if you are using a largc spcakcr. but prefer not
to havc bass frequencies output from that speaker.

bass. you can use the equalil.cr to boost the bass
levels.
oThe surround back speakcrs will be set to the samc
setting as that of the surround speakers.
oWhen the front speakers are set to "SMALL." the
center. surround. and surround back speakers are
also automatically sct to "SMALL."
olfyou do not usc the sub woofer. the front spcakers
are automatically set to "LARGE."

Lets you speci fy the location of your surround
speakers for proper implementation of the
surround effects in the Cinema Studio EX
modes. This setup item is not available when
there are no surround speakers.
