Mower Deck Leveling -

42", 46" & 52" decks
NOTE: Perform mower deck leveling on a hard flat
surface such as a concrete floor.
1. Disengage the PTO, engage the parking brake, lock
the ground speed levers into their START/PARK posi-
tions, turn off the ignition, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop.
2. Adjust the mower deck to the mid-height cutting posi-
tion. See Cutting Height Adjustment.
WARNING
After adjusting the mower cutting height, engage
parking brake, turn off the mower blades, turn the
ignition switch to STOP, and remove key before
attempting to install or remove the mower.
3. Make sure the front wheels are turned straight ahead.
Side-to-Side Leveling
WARNING
Careless or improper handling of blades may result in
serious injury. Do not handle the sharp mower blades
with bare hands. Wear heavy leather gloves.
1. Turn blades side to side. See Figure 24.
2. Measure the distance between the two outside blade
tips (A & B, Figure 24) and the floor. The difference
between the two measurements (A & B) should be
less than 1/8" (3mm).
6. If adjustment is needed, tighten the nuts (C & D) on
the right or left side of the deck until the correct mea-
surement is achieved.
