SAFETY RULES

1.1 Introduction

All the machines and equipments are under constant de vel op ment and we re-
serve the right to modify the respective technical data, weights, con struc tion
and standard equipment provided in any moment without no tice. The in for ma tion
and illustrations contained in this manual are purely indicative and not legally
binding.

1.2 Appropriate use

The brushcutter must be used exclusively to cut
grass, shrubs and bushes. Any use of the equip-
ment other than those specifi ed in this manual may
create serious risk of injury or damage.

1.3 General instructions

- Carefully read and comprehend all the instructions
and rec om men da tions provided in this manual be fore
beginning to work. This manual must be con stant ly
maintained in good condition for immediate consulta-
tion whenever necessary.
- The machine must be used only by adults who have
been instructed in its use by a qualifi ed technician or
your local dealer.
- All people, animals and delicate property must be kept
at least 15 meters away from the machine's radius of
operation.
- The operators of the machine are responsible for any
and all injury and damage caused to third parties with in
the machine's radius of operation.
- The operators must always use the appropriate pro-
tec tion means and wear close-fi tting work suits, heavy-
duty shoes, gloves and protective helmets, etc.
- Goggles or face-masks, and head-phones or ear-
plugs must also always be worn.
- The operators should always be in good physical
con di tion, well-rested, and never under the infl uence
of alcohol, drugs, or medicines.
- The machine must be operated only under con di tions
of good vis i bil i ty and in natural daylight.
- Never use cutting tools other than those supplied by
the man u fac tur er, and use only original spare-parts.
- Never use broken, worn-out, deformed, dented, or
cracked cutting tools.
- Never start the brushcutter or keep it running in closed
rooms.
- Mix and handle the fuel in the open air only far from
all sources of heat, sparks or fl ames with the engine
switched off. Refrain from smoking while mixing or
han dling fuel.
- All maintenance, repair and component replacement
operations must always be performed with the en gine
switched off and all rotating parts stopped.
- All the machine's safety systems and the protective
equipment must be maintained operative whenever
the brushcutter is being used.
- Beware of the effects of prolonged vibration. Stop
work ing and take short pauses from time to time.
- Remember that the chopped grass and shrubs sprayed
into the air can cause allergy reactions.
- Carefully read the instructions regarding appropriate
clothing and adequate protection means below.

1.4 Safety signs

1) WARNING, DANGER, CAUTION
2) READ THE DOCUMENTATION AND SAFETY IN-
STRUC TIONS FOR THE PRODUCT PROVIDED IN
THE MANUAL
3) ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET, EAR PROTECTORS
AND PROTECTIVE GOGGLES DURING OPERA-
TION.
4) ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY SHOES AND GLOVES.
5) NEVER MOVE YOUR HANDS OR FEET NEAR
THE MOVING PARTS AND ALWAYS STAND
BACK FROM THE CUTTING ELEMENT, WHICH
WILL CONTINUE ROTATING EVEN AFTER THE
ENGINE HAS BEEN SWITCHED OFF.
6) ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT STONES AND OTHER
OBJECTS CAN FLY OUT FROM UNDER THE CUT-
TING ELEMENT.
