Removing the crankcase covers

1. Disconnect the hoses from the crank-
case covers.
2. Remove the crankcase cover bolts in the
sequences shown.

Installing the crankcase covers

1. Install the new gaskets and crankcase
covers, and then tighten the crankcase
cover bolts to the specified torque in the
sequences shown.

Crankcase cover bolt:
11 N·m (1.1 kgf·m, 8.1 ft·lb)
2. Connect the hoses to the crankcase cov-
ers.

Installing the power unit

1. Clean the power unit mating surface, and
then install new dowels 1, a new gasket
2, and the shift rod assembly 3.

CAUTION:
Do not reuse the dowels, always replace
them with new ones.
2. Install the power unit 4, and then tighten
the power unit mounting bolts 5 to the
specified torque.
NOTE:
Replace or reuse the power unit mounting
bolts. If reusing the power unit mounting
bolts, be sure to completely remove any
LOCTITE remaining on the bolts.
Power unit mounting bolt 5:
32 N·m (3.2 kgf·m, 23.6 ft·lb)
