z/OS
z/OS is the next generation of the OS/390 operating
system, the leader among enterprise operating sys-
tems. z/OS enables you to manage the volatility of
e-business workloads. z/OS provides qualities of ser-
vice that are critical for the e-business world.
z/OS introduces a new technology to facilitate its man-
ageability. Managed System Infrastructure for Setup
(msys for Setup) provides a new approach for install-
ing and configuring z/OS and products running on

OS/390
OS/390 is the platform of choice for helping to protect

subsystem and system integration testing.
Significant improvements in OS/390 ServerPac produc-
tion efficiency can mean faster delivery of customer or-
ders and shorter transition time to production status.
The OS/390 software provides very high levels of avail-
ability for mission-critical workloads through IBM's Par-
allel Sysplex clustering technology. Dynamic workload
balancing and transparent and granular application
scalability support true enterprise-wide network com-
puting and the global demands of e-business. Addition-
ally, OS/390 provides comprehensive, integrated
systems management and security so that e-business
transactions can occur in a highly-protected manner.
Rapid migration to new technologies and business ini-
tiatives is possible through support of critical base
components for server consolidation, network comput-
ing, enterprise applications and business intelligence.
