1. Applicable model
Outdoor unit
2. Error detection method
E45 is displayed on 7-segment
LED.
3. Condition of error displayed
When the communication
between inverter PCB and
outdoor control PCB is not
established.
4. Presumable cause
• Signal wire anomaly
• Outdoor control PCB
anomaly
• Inverter PCB anomaly
• Rush current prevention
resistor anomaly
• Defective 52C or 52X
• Defective diode module
Note:
*3 Measurement position: Between + and - of C21
*4 Measurement position: Between pins ① - ③ of CNM1, CNM2 (CNM2 for systems having 2 units of compressor only)
If it fails to repeat, connect the Mente PC, and continue to collect data.

5. Troubleshooting
(Inspect also the INV1 even if it is E45-2.)
Diagnosis
Save data for 30 minutes before stopping in Mente PC.
Reset the power supply, and restart.
Does it repeat?
Turn power OFF. Check for
proper connection of harnesses and connectors
between inverter and control
Power ON
Is DC 12V power supply
detected on control PCB? (*3)
Is green or red LED flashing
or lighting on inverter PCB?
YES
Is DC 280V detected
between P-N of power transistor?
Does 52C or 52X turn ON?
Power OFF
Power OFF
Is surge suppressor resistor coil broken?
Are harness and connectors
connected properly between inverter PCB
and diode modules?
Is there short-circuit or broken wire between diode modules?
Are switches set properly on inverter PCB?

Countermeasure
Check, record operating condition.
Check under operating
condition 30 minutes
earlier than the error, as
much as possible.
Wait and see.
Check for broken wires on harness,
disconnected connectors.
Correct if there is any problem.
Replace control PCB.
Check after confirming that
52C or 52X is turned ON.
Check after confirming that
52C or 52X is turned ON.
Replace inverter PCB.
When it fails to turn ON even if it is
turned ON from the maintenance PC,
check voltage at connector (*4) on
control PCB. If AC 220/240V is
detected, replace 52C or 52X.
If it shows 0V, replace control PCB.
Disconnect harness connected to
resistor, and check resistance
between terminals. If wires are
broken, replace resistor. If wires are
broken, check also harness between
diode modules and inverter. If
resistor is blown again after
replacing it, replace diode modules.
Check if harness wires are
broken. Check if connectors are
connected securely. Correct if
there is any problem.
Replace diode modules.
Correct setting of switches
on inverter PCB.
Replace inverter PCB.
If error still persists, replace control PCB.
