Battery maintenance 3
If the battery installed to your vehicle is not
maintenance free:
Remove battery caps and ensure
electrolyte level is 15 mm above the plates.
Add distilled or demineralised water to
correct the level.
If battery fluid level drops below the plates,
do not attempt to test or recharge the
battery or jump start the engine.

We recommend that you have battery
changes carried out by a Vauxhall
Authorised Repairer. He knows the laws
concerning the disposal of used batteries
and therefore protects the environment
and your health.
Electrical or electronic accessories fitted at
a later stage can place an additional load
on the battery or discharge the battery.
Consult a workshop. We recommend a
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer, as regards
technical possibilities, such as fitting a
more powerful or an additional battery.
Warning
Protection of electronic
components
In order to avoid the breakdown of
electronic components within the electrical
system, never disconnect the battery with
the engine running. Never start the engine
while the battery is disconnected (e.g.
when using jump leads).
