i n c o m m o n e m i t t e r c o n n e c t i o n a n d Q l 0 9 i s c o n n e c t e d
in common collector connection (emitter follower).
The record equalization is obtained by fhe negative
f e e d b a c k c i r c u i t f r o m t h e e m i t t e r o f Q l 0 9 t o t h e
e m i t t e r o f Q 1 0 7 .
The emitter feedback circuit decreases the amplifica-
t i o n a p p r o x i m a t e l y 3 0 d B i n t h e m e d i u m r a n g e o f t h e
rrequency response.
T h e l o w e r r a n g e o f t h e h i g h f r e q u e n c y r e s p o n s e i s
d e t e r m i n e d b y t h e c a p a c i t o r C \ 2 2 . T h e s e r i a l r e s o n -
a n c e c i r c u i t L l , C l 2 5 a n d R l 3 6 f o r m s t h e h i g h f r e -
quency response.
The low frequency response is obtained by the capa-
c i t o r C I 2 7 a n d t h e r e s i s i o r R 1 4 0 .
C l 8 6 i s i n f r o d u c e d f o f o r m a p a r t o f t h e h i g h f r e q u -
ency response.
The equalization switch is linked fo the speed selector
k n o b , a n d c o r r e c t e q u a l i z a t i o n f o r t h e d i f f e r e n t

s p e e d i s c h a n g e d .
The componenis are referred to 7th i.p.s. tape speed.
