4.1.4 The tape brake
T h e t a p e b r a k e ( 5 1 . 9 ) i s l o c a t e d i n s i d e t h e p r e s s u r e
wheel assembly (5 1 .3) and is activated by the pressure
w h e e l l e v e r ( 5 1 . 5 ) . R e f . f i g . I l . T h e t a p e b r a k e ( 5 1 . 9 )
prevents the tape from creeping when the operating
i e v e r ( 5 4 . 1 ) i s i n n o r m a l f o r w a r d d r i v e , w i t h t h e m o -
mentary start-stop lever in stop position (right posi-

Adlustments
S e t t h e o p e r a t i n g l e v e r ( 5 4 . . | ) t o n o r m a l f o r w a r d d r i v e
and the momentary siart-stop lever to the stop posi-
t i o n , w i t h t a p e i n s e r t e d . T h e t a p e b r a k e ( 5 1 . 9 ) s h o u l d
prevent the tape from creeping when the pressure
p a d a r m ( 5 9 . 2 ) i s p u l l e d a w a y f r o m t h e e r a s e h e a d .
Start fhe mechanism by moving the momentary start-
stop lever to the left position. The tape brake (5.|.9)
