    Do not turn off the Wind Box DE500/ DC500 when the hard disk In-use LED is on. Do not remove or install the hard disk drive when the Wind Box DE500/ DC500 is turned on. The replacement of hard disk drive should be done by an authorized retailer or service representative.

    ▍ System Operations yStem ooting etup for the firSt time For the first-time use, you will need to go over the following steps to start us- ing your Wind Box Series PC. The entire booting setup will take you around 30 minutes.

    MS-6676 reating yStem eCovery For the first-time use, it is highly recommended that you create a system recovery disk as the backup solution in the event of a catastrophic disk failure or other ac- cidents. Before moving forward, please make sure your system booting setup is complete and go over the following procedures to get it done.
  • Page 40 ▍ System Operations Step 3. Select [Create and burn a recovery disk] and click [Next] to continue. Alternatively, choose [Advanced] to bring forth advanced options. Choose between the provided options and click [Next] to continue.

Follow the on-screen instructions to prepare enough number of blank DVD disks. Insert the blank DVD disk into the optical disk drive and click [Next] to continue.

Press [OK] to reboot the system and access Windows operating system as usual. Recover the System with the Recovery Disk If your system is equipped with an optical disk drive or an external one, you may perform the System Recovery Function with the Recovery Disk that you created earlier.

The system recovery process will format your hard disk drive partition. Make sure that the important data has been backed up before continuing the pro- cess.

DO NOT turn off the system power while performing the System Recovery Function, or it may cause some unknown damage to the system.
