Saloon
The integrated key of the remote control, see
page 16, fits the luggage compartment lid lock.
Turn the key to the left as far as it will go: the
luggage compartment lid will open.
If you unlock and open the luggage com-
partment lid with the key while the alarm
system is armed, the alarm will be triggered.

Touring
In the event of an electrical fault:
1. From the luggage area, swing the cover on
the tailgate upwards.
2. Pull the ring upwards. The tailgate is
unlocked.

3. Open the tailgate and close the cover again.
The tailgate is locked as soon as it is pressed to
a close.

Emergency release*

Pull the lever in the luggage area. This will
unlock the luggage compartment lid.
Closing
The recessed handles in the interior trim of the
24.< luggage compartment lid/tailgate make it easier
to pull the luggage compartment lid/tailgate
down.

area of the luggage compartment lid/tail-
unobstructed.<
