CUTTER BLADES
The power plane is equipped with reversible carbide cutters that are not
designed to be resharpened. The blades can be reversed to expose the
second cutting edge when the first edge becomes dull. When both cutting
edges become dull, replace the blades.
TO REMOVE BLADES
These blades are very sharp. Exercise care to prevent cuts.
1. Use the supplied 5/16" wrench to loosen the three clamp screws (A) Fig.
9.
2. Open the cutter guard (A) Fig. 10. Open and slide the pressure bar
assembly out of the cutter head.
3. Use a block of wood to push the blade out of the pressure bar (Fig. 11).
4. Rotate the cutter head and repeat steps 1 through 3 to remove the other
cutter blade.
TO INSTALL BLADES
1.
Thoroughly clean the blades, the
pressure bars, and the cutter
head.
2.
Slide the blades into the pressure
bars with the sharp cutting edge
exposed.
3.
Open the cutter guard (A) Fig. 10,
and slide the blade and pressure
bar assemblies into the cutter
head. Firmly tighten the cutter
head screws (A) Fig. 9.
Make sure that the blades are in the cutter head groove
on the side farthest from the clamping screws. Also, check to see that
the pressure bars DO NOT protrude beyond either end of the cutter head.
Incorrect installation could be damaging to the plane and dangerous to the
operator.
