3. BASIC FUNCTIONS

Power On/Off

1. Memory power on
Plug in the supply socket and press the MAIN POWER SWITCH on the TV. The TV enters the
former mode before Power-off
mode before power-off, or enters the STANDBY mode if in the STANDBY mode before power-off. In
this case, you may press any of the POWER, CH-/CH+, 0-9 buttons on the remote control or
CH-/CH+ on the TV to turn on the TV.
2. Power off
When the TV in the TURN ON mode, press the POWER button to shift the TV to the STANDBY
mode, press the MAIN POWER SWITCH directly to power off the TV at once.
Part of circuit on the TV remains active in the STANDBY mode. To cut off the power off completely,
please press the MAIN POWER SWITCH.
Note:
Avoid switching the TV on and off frequently. Doing so may shorten life span of internal components.
General Operation

1. Intelligent operation

By this function, the TV can accomplish many important operation and settings, which is convenient
for your operation.
1) Press the AUTO button and hold it for 2 sec so that the TV automatically completes some settings,
such as settings for color/sound systems, picture/sound modes and volume.
2) After completion, the screen message "ASM?" is displayed. At this time, press the AUTO button
again and the TV enters the ASM mode. It returns to CH No.1 after ASM. You may watch the TV
program now.
· If with TUNING LOCK ON, the screen message "ASM?" will not appear and ASM doesn't begin.

2. Channel selection

1) Pressing the CH-/CH+ buttons can select another lower-numbered or upper-numbered channel.
2) Direct selection
*To select a one-digit channel number
Press the -- button to choose " -" firstly, then press one of 0-9 buttons.
*To select a two-digit channel number
Press the -- button to choose " - -" firstly, then enter a first-digit and second-digit.
*To select a three-digit channel number
Press the -- button to choose " - - -" firstly, then enter a first-digit, second-digit and third-digit.
Note: Each digit should be entered at 3 sec. time interval.
3) Program scan
Press the SCAN button and the "SCAN OFF" appear on the screen. Press the button again and the
TV begins to scan from the current channel. To stop scan and start the corresponding operation,
press any other buttons. The channel skipped cannot appear on the screen during scan.
4) Recall
Press the RECALL button and the TV will directly skip back to the previous program.
