In order to exchange MIDI information with another MIDI instrument, the two connected instruments must be set
to the same channel.
Step 1
Press and hold the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons at the same time, then press the key
assigned to the MIDI CH function.
Step 2
While still holding down the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons, select the desired MIDI
channel by entering a two digit number using the number keys.
For example, to set the MIDI channel to CH 1, press the '0' key and then the '1' key.
To set the MIDI channel to CH 16, press the '1' key and then the '6' key.
A MIDI channel can be set within the range of 1 to 16.

8) MIDI LOCAL CONTROL ON/OFF

This function is used to control whether or not the sound from the CN21 piano will be heard when playing the
keyboard. When MIDI LOCAL CONTROL is set to 'on', sound will be heard when playing the CN21 piano's
keyboard. When MIDI LOCAL CONTROL is set to 'off', sound will not be heard when playing the CN21 piano's
keyboard, however the keyboard data will still be transmitted to an external MIDI device.
When MIDI information is received, the sound will be played through the CN21 piano.
Step 1
Press and hold the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons at the same time, then press the key
assigned to the LOCAL function.
Step 2
While still holding down the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons, press the key '- (off)' to set

MIDI LOCAL CONTROL to 'off', or the '+ (on)' key to set MIDI LOCAL CONTROL to 'on'.
The MIDI Local Control setting is automatically set to 'on' when the CN21 piano is turned on.
The MIDI channel is automatically set to CH 1 when the CN21 piano is turned on.
