SAFETY
CONSIDERATIONS
Installation
and servicing of air-conditioning
equipment
can
be hazardous
due to system
pressure
and electrical
compo-
nents. Only trained
and qualified
service personnel
should
install, repair, or service air-conditioning
equipment.
Untrained
personnel
can perform
basic maintenance
func-
tions of cleaning coils and filters and replacing
filters. All other
operations
should be performed
by trained service personnel.
When working on air-conditioning
equipment, observe precau-
tions in the literature, tags and labels attached to the unit, and
other safety precautions
that may apply.
Improper installation,
adjustment,
alteration,
service, main-
tenance,
or use can cause explosion,
fire, electrical
shock or
other conditions
which may cause personal
injury or property
damage.
Consult a qualified
installer, service agency, or your
distributor
or branch
for
information
or assistance.
The
qualified installer or agency must use factory-authorized
kits or
accessories
when modifying
this product.
Refer to the individ-
ual instructions
packaged
with the kits or accessories
when
installing.
Follow
all safety
codes.
Wear safety
glasses
and work
gloves. Use quenching
cloth for brazing operations.
Have fire
extinguisher
available. Read these instructions
thoroughly
and
follow all warnings
or cautions
attached to the unit. Consult
local building codes and the National
Electrical
Code (NEC)
for special installation
requirements.
