IBM 11a Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter
The IBM 11a Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter must be installed and used in
strict accordance with the following instructions. This product complies with
the following radio frequency and safety standards.
U.S.A. - Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference,
and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including
interference that may cause undesired operations.
The FCC, with its action in ET Docket 96-8, has adopted a safety standard for
human exposure to RF electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC-certified
equipment. This product meets the uncontrolled environmental limits found in
OTE-65 and ANSI C95.1, 1991. Proper operation of this radio device according
to the instructions in this publication will result in user exposure substantially
below the FCC recommended limits.
The IBM 11a Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter is a mobile device that uses radio
transmissions to operate. Please keep it at least 20 cm (8 inches) from any
persons during operation. This adapter has passed all necessary tests, and FCC
applications are pending to classify the product as a portable device that can
be operated in close proximity to the human body. The adapter is a wireless
device with an integrated antenna. To comply with the FCC and ANSI C95.1
RF exposure limits, when using such a wireless device inserted into a mobile
computer, it is recommended that the antenna should not be positioned closer
than 20 cm (8 inches) from your body or nearby persons. It is recommended
that the user limit exposure time if the antenna is positioned closer than 20 cm
(8 inches). The Device must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with
any other antenna or radio transmitter. Installers and end-users must follow
the installation instructions provided in this user guide.
