Check
•Battery is unconnected or low battery.
• Cover is shielded by substances (including
glass).
•Improper area adjustment.
•Not yet about 1minute after a battery is connected
to the unit. (Operation LED is flickering.)
• The voltage of powersupply is lower than that
for transmitter.
•Incorrect polarity of powersupply
•Improper setting of output form
•Improper area adjustment.
•Cover face is soiled with dust or water drop.
• Detection occurs within the signal prohibition
time set by a dip switch.
• Something moving in protected area or too
rapid temperature variations.
•Large electrical noise source such as power
machine nearby or its wiring close to that of
sensor.
• Intense refl ection of sun light or head light
shining on the sensor.
• Reflective lights such as sun light or head
light affect the downward zone.
•Improper installation of the sensor.
•Detection distance of the downward zone is too long. •Readjust detection distance.
• Cars or motor bikes located at the front of
detection area may activate the sensor.
•The unit suffers functional trouble. (Trouble
signal is issued.)

• Connect the battery to the unit after which approx.
1 min warm up period starts.
• Attach the cover to the unit and fi x it by tightening
the cover locking screw.
(After the warm up time is over and the cover is
attached to the sensor, the unit will be in a test mode
for about 5 min.)
• After the warm up time is over, operate a walk test
and check the location and size of the detection area
through the LED.
• If necessary, readjust the angle and distance of
the detection area as well as sensitivity and pulse
count.
* Make sure that there is no undesirable detection of
traffi c including vehicles if there is a path or road at
