MONITOR TYPE
You can select a monitor type when you playback DVD discs recorded for wide
screen televisions.
If your television has a normal (4:3) screen, select "4:3 PS

DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT
To connect the XV-1000BK digital output with an external amplifier or receiver
equipped with an optical digital input, this item must be set correctly.
PCM ONLY: to connect to an optical input of an audio equipment.
PCM/AC-3: to connect to a Dolby AC-3 optical digital input of a Dolby
Digital AC-3 decoder.
The following chart shows the relationship between kinds of playback discs and
output signals.

If you use the AV Compulink system, you must set this item correctly.
Select from the three options: DVD1, DVD2 and DVD3 according to the equipment
to be connected.
