Note: If you are using Windows XP you need to update the Nokia 6310i infrared
driver after installing the Nokia Modem Options.
Updating the infrared driver:
1. Open Control Panel and select Phone and Modem Options.
2. In Phone and Modem Options select the Modems tab. In the Modems tab,
select Standard Modem over IR link, and click Properties.
3. In the Standard Modem over IR link Properties dialog box select the Driver
tab, and select Update Driver.
4. Hardware Update Wizard opens. Select Install from a list or specific
location (Advanced). Click Next.
5. The next dialog asks you to choose your search and installation options.
Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install. Click Next.
6. The next dialog asks you to select the modem you want to install. Select
Standard Modem over IR link. Click Next.
7. In the Install from disk dialog box, click Browse.
8. Go to the WinNT\inf directory, and select nokia6310iIrDA.inf. Click Open. In
the Install from disk dialog box, click OK.
9. In the next dialog click Continue Anyway.
10. Click Finish when the installation is complete. The Nokia 6310i (IrDA) modem
is now visible in the modems list. Click OK to close the Phone and Modem
Options window.
The Nokia 6310i IrDA modem can now be seen in the Installed Nokia Modems list
in the Nokia Modem Options Control Panel applet.

SELECTING YOUR PHONE AS A MODEM

You can use your phone with a variety of commercially available data and fax
communications applications. When configuring a data or fax application, you must select
your phone as the modem. Depending on whether you want to use a cable connection,
Bluetooth connection or an infrared connection, you can select either Nokia 6310i Cable,
Nokia 6310i Bluetooth or Nokia 6310i IrDA as the modem.
Note: Bluetooth connection is available for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP only.
