REAR WHEEL AND REAR BRAKE

WARNING
Do not allow oil or grease to contact the
brake shoes.
NOTE:
Replace the brake shoes as a set, if either is
worn to the wear limit.
3. Measure:
S brake drum inside diameter a
Out of specification ! Replace the wheel.
Brake drum inside diameter limit
(maximum)
111 mm
4. Check:
S brake drum inner surface
Oil deposits ! Clean.
Remove the oil with a rag soaked in lacquer
thinner or solvent.
Scratches ! Repair.
Lightly and evenly polish the scratches with
an emery cloth.
5. Check:
S brake camshaft
Damage/wear ! Replace.

ASSEMBLING THE BRAKE SHOE PLATE

1. Install:
S brake camshaft 1
S brake shoe wear indicator 2
a. Align the projection a on the brake shoe
wear indicator with the notch b in the brake
shoe camshaft.
b. Check that the brake shoes are properly
positioned.
