2. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-
utes, and then turn it off.

CAUTION:
When the engine is cold, the engine oil will
have a higher viscosity, causing the engine
oil pressure to increase. Therefore, be sure
to measure the engine oil pressure after
warming up the engine.
3. Remove:
• Left lower side cowling
• Left bottom cowling
Refer to "GENERAL CHASSIS" on page 4-1.
4. Remove:
• Main gallery bolt "1"

WARNING
The engine, muffler and engine oil are ex-
tremely hot.

5. Install:
• Oil pressure gauge set "1"
• Oil pressure adapter H "2"

6. Measure:
• Engine oil pressure
(at the following conditions)
Oil pressure (hot)
80.0 kPa/1300 r/min (11.6
psi/1300 r/min) (0.80
kgf/cm²/1300 r/min)
Oil temperature
82–92 °C (180–198 °F)
Out of specification → Adjust.
Engine oil pressure
Below specification
Above specification
7. Install:
• Main gallery bolt
Main gallery bolt
8 Nm (0.8 m·kg, 5.8 ft·lb)
8. Install:
• Left bottom cowling
• Left lower side cowling
Refer to "GENERAL CHASSIS" on page 4-1.

• Clutch lever free play "a"
Out of specification → Adjust.

• Leaking oil passage
• Broken or dam-
aged oil seal
• Leaking oil passage
• Faulty oil filter
• Oil viscosity too
