    Quick start Quick start The MicroLink dLAN Audio adapter is a very flexible tool which allows you to create an audio bridge between the worlds of the PC and the hi-fi system, as well as other devices. Since you probably cannot wait any longer to distribute your music throughout your entire home over the power supply grid, we have provided this "quick start"...

A MicroLink dLAN Audio has all the usual connection options of the hi-fi world, including analog and digital inputs and outputs (Cinch/RCA) as well as microphone or active speaker connections (3.5 mm phone plug).
  • Page 13 Audio, the integrated MP3 encoder converts the hi-fi audio signal into the MP3 format. The dLAN adapter transfers this data format via the power supply grid to the MicroLink dLAN Audio into another room. The MP3 format is converted back into a hi-fi audio signal (decoded) and played back over the active speakers.

For MicroLink dLAN Audio adapters, the IP address, operating mode and channel setting are also displayed. You can use the Device Rename command to change the name of the highlighted device.

    4.5.5 Adjusting the playback delay The audio files are cached in the MicroLink dLAN Audio adapter during streaming to ensure good playback quality also in case of disruptions. This caching process necessitates a playback delay that you can adjust to suit your line quality.

    To do so, enable the 'Use the following TCP/IP settings' option to switch off automatic assignment of IP addresses. Please note the IP address you have assigned to the MicroLink dLAN Audio adapter. If you ever change the IP addresses on your network, you can use this address to access the MicroLink dLAN Audio adapter without having to restore the factory default settings.
