Connect with PPP Mode

Your ISP may use a protocol batter than Bridge Mode for communication with the Modem, such as the
point-to-point protocol (PPP). One type of PPP, named PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE). The other type,
PPP over ATM (PPPoA). However, if your ISP use either one, your service provider will provide you PPP
software for installation on your computer, follow the instructions from your ISP.
Some accounts use PPP connection software for their Internet service connection. If you have been
given a CD with PPP software, install this now as instructed by your service provider. After the Modem
has rebooted it will negotiate the ADSL connection. For PPP (PPPoE and PPPoA) connections software
is installed on the computer directly connected to the computer. This software is used to verify the
identity of your account and establish a secure Point-to-Point connection to the service provider's
network infrastructure.
