Chapter 9 Connection with external unit
9-1 26-pin Connection
Extenders
By attaching the optional 26-pin camera adapter (AJ-CA905G),
connection with the remote control unit AJ-RC905EN is possible
using a 26-pin multi-cable, which leads to operation as a system
camera.
For more information, see the instruction manuals for the AJ-
CA905G and AJ-RC905EN.
<Note>
When this connection is used, the AJ-SPX900E automatically
synchronizes with a 26-pin extender. (The setting of the
GENLOCK menu need not be changed.)

9-2 Connection with external VTR

By attaching the 26-pin camera adapter (AJ-CA905G), an
external VTR can be connected using a 26-pin cable for copying
video.
By setting the menu option 26PIN CONTROL to "BOTH" starting
and stopping of recording of an external TVR can be controlled,
according to the recording, using the AJ-SPX900E.
The TALLY LED indicates external VTR status.
Recording status of the AJ-SPX900E can be selected according
to the setting of REC TALLY. The menu option REC TALLY can
be found in the <SYSTEM MODE> screen on the SYSTEM
SETTING page.

9-3 Connection with Digital Triax

Attaching the optional camera adapter for Digital Triax (AJ-
CA901EN) and using this in conjunction with the AJ-BS901EN,
enables the AJ-SPX900E to be operated as a system camera.
It is possible to transfer video recorded by the AJ-SPX900E
using a non-compressed wideband 360Mbps serial component
signal to maintain high quality.
For more information, see the instruction manuals for the AJ-
CA901EN and AJ-BS901EN.
The terms "camera", "camera recorder", and "AJ-SDX900"
indicated in the above manuals can be replaced with "AJ-
SPX900E". Exceptions:

Remote Menu Configuration
When a system is created by connecting the AJ-SPX900E with
the camera adapter AJ-CA901EN for Digital Triax, the camera
recorder's menu will be as follows:
MAIN MENU
Among the menu items on the Base Station AJ-BS901EN,
"NEWS" function provided with the AJ-SPX900E cannot be
selected for the menu option GAMMA MODE of the FLARE/
GAMMA screen. When the menu option GAMMA MODE SEL is
set to "NEWS" on the AJ-SPX900E, it switches to "STD"
(standard) after connecting with the AJ-BS901EN.
<Notes>
When attaching the camera adapter AJ-CA901EN, battery-
remaining level detection is based on the battery type selected
in the menu option EXT DC IN SELECT. The factory-assigned
default is "AC-ADPT" (AC adapter).
When this connection is used, the AJ-SPX900E automatically
synchronizes with Digital Triax. (The setting of the GENLOCK
menu need not be changed.)
