3.4 The Privacy Screen

Use the Privacy screen to set a private network name for the local and remote power line
adapters. Click on the Privacy tab to view the screen as shown.

Click this to add remote power line adapters to your power line network. The Add
Device to Network window opens up:
The following fields must be filled in:
• Device Name - Enter the name you want to use for this power line adapter on
your network. This doesn't need to match the current name of this power line
adapter.
• Password - This field must match the local password of the power line adapter.
The password is physically printed on a label located on the power line adapter
or on its packaging.
Click OK to add this power line adapter to your power line network or click Cancel to
close the Add Device to Network window.
Note: The device must be present on the power line (plugged in) in
order for the password to be confirmed and added to the
network. If the device could not be located, a warning message
will be shown.
Click this to scan the power line network for power line adapters which use the same
network name as the local power line adapter. By default the PL100 Configuration
Utility automatically scans the power line for remote power line adapters.
Click this to close the PL100 Configuration Utility.
