Grounding to prevent damage by static electricity Electrostatic discharge (ESD), which occurs when static electricity stored in the body, fabric, etc. is discharged, can destroy the laser diode in the traverse unit (optical pickup). Make sure that the driver unit elevator is positioned as shown in Fig.6 from to the second or fifth hole on the left side face of the CD changer mechanism assembly.
