Place your motorcycle on its side stand.

Apply the brake control (lever or pedal) and
check the movement of the arrow ( ) on the
brake arm ( ). Replace the brake shoes if the

arrow aligns with the reference mark ( ) on
the brake panel ( ) upon full application of

the brake. If replacement is necessary, see
your Honda dealer.

Other Inspections & Lubrication
Check that the front lever and rear pedal
assemblies are positioned properly and the
securing bolts are tight.
Check the front brake cable for kinks or
signs of wear that could cause sticking or
failure.
Lubricate the front brake cable with a
commercially-available cable lubricant to
prevent premature wear and corrosion.
Front: Make sure the brake arm, spring, and
fasteners are in good condition.
Rear: Make sure the brake rod, brake arm,
spring, and fasteners are in good condition.
