NOTE
Updating of map data can in some cases
also introduce new functions to the system,
which are not described in this manual.
Interrupted update
If the GPS navigator needs to be used after an
update has started but is not complete, it is
possible to cancel the process manually. Pro-
ceed as follows:
1. If the car is in use: Park the car in a suitable
location.
2. Eject the DVD.
3. Press the START/STOP ENGINE button -
the engine stops.
4. Remove the remote key from the start lock
and wait 5 minutes.
5. Restart the engine and press the centre
console NAV button - the navigator is ena-
bled and ready for use. Note that the nav-
igator has not been updated yet, but has
been activated using the original map data.
Continue an interrupted update
If the update is not complete when the engine
is switched off, the process continues from
where it left off the next time you start the
engine. Proceed as follows to restart an inter-
rupted update:
1. Perform steps 1-3 in the previous section,
"Updating" - the update will continue from
where it left off.
2. Follow the instructions on screen.
Care of DVD discs
Handle DVD discs with care.
When they are not in use they must be stored
in their packaging. Avoid storing them in damp,
high temperature, direct sunlight or dusty sur-
roundings.
Screen care
Clean the screen with a soft, lint-free rag, lightly
moistened with a mild window cleaning agent.
IMPORTANT
Do not place any objects in front of the GPS
navigator's display screen - the surface
could then be scratched. Mobile phones
can also interfere with the display screen's
function.
