• The minimum measurement time until the signaling tone [beep] must be maintained
without exception!
• The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by children.
Keep the thermometer out of the reach of children.
• Damage may occur if the thermometer is dropped or struck against a hard surface.
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 55°C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
• Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in the section «cleaning and disinfecting» to
clean the thermometer. The thermometer must be intact when immersed in liquid
disinfectant.
• Do not carry out repairs of any kind yourself. If a defect occurs, consult the OMRON
distributor or Customer Services as mentioned on the packaging.
• Warning: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. The
bottom corner of the display indicates the battery needs to be changed.Open the battery
compartment
by pulling the colored top firmly.Gently pull out the circuit board with
battery compartment approximately 1 cm. Remove the battery by pushing a thin plastic
or wooden tip (such as toothpick) through the small gap at the side of the battery holder.

2. SWITCHING ON
Press the on/off button
.A short beep-signal sounds,the device is on.All symbols show
for a few seconds as a means of checking that the thermometer is
on the LCD display
functioning correctly. If available the last correctly measured temperature is displayed
indicated by the "M"symbol. After this the device is ready for measurement indicated by a
flashing "°C"symbol and a "Lo"indication at an ambient temperature of less than 32°C.
2a. For changing between Fahrenheit and Celsius indication: Keep the on/off button
pressed for approximately 4 seconds after switching on the unit.
3. HOW TO USE THE THERMOMETER
Position the sensor-tip
in the preferred place of measurement – mouth, rectum or
armpit. If the signaling tone (beep-beep-beep-beep) sounds 4 times and the «°C» is no
longer flashing, this means that the measurement is finished and that the thermometer is
ready for reading.
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer under the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good
contact with the tissue.Close your mouth and breathe evenly through the nose to prevent
the measurement from being influenced by inhaled/exhaled air. Approx. measuring time:
1 minute. Normal temperature between 35.7 °C and 37.3 °C.
In the anus (rectal)
This is the most reliable measuring method and is especially appropriate for infants and
small children.Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 to 3 cm into the anal aperture.
Approx. measuring time 1 minute.
Normal temperature between 36.2 °C and 37.7 °C.
In the armpit (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and
should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time:
1.5 minutes. Normal temperature between 35.2 °C and 36.7 °C.
Warning! To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by pressing the
operating button briefly. Otherwise the thermometer will automatically turn off
after about 10 minutes.
