2 Insert the Battery and Memory Card*
* Data can be recorded in the internal memory (approximately
20 MB) if the memory card is not inserted. If data will be
recorded to the internal memory, the memory card does not
need to be inserted in step 2.3.

Open the battery-chamber/
memory card slot cover.
Slide the cover latch to CS~ side
(CD) and open the cover (0)·

Insert the battery.
Insert the supplied Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL 12
into the battery chamber.
Use the battery to push the orange battery latch up (CD) as
the battery is inserted (0). The battery latch will spring
back into place when the battery is fully inserted.

Inserting the Battery
Inserting the battery upside down or backwards
could damage the camera. Be sure to check that the
battery is in the correct orientation.
