Your new tractor has been assembled at the factory with exception of those parts left unassembled for shipping purposes. To ensure safe and proper operation of your tractor all parts and hardware you assemble must be tightened securely. Use the correct tools as necessary to ensure proper tightness. TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY A socket wrench set will make assembly easier.

Push down on seat to engage pads in slots and pull seat towards rear of tractor. • Raise seat and tighten bolt securely. • Remove tape and discard. • Lower seat into operating position and sit on seat. Press clutch/brake pedal all the way down.

TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARD (See Fig. 9) The direction and speed of movement is controlled by the forward and reverse drive pedals. • Start tractor and release parking brake. • Slowly depress forward (K) or reverse (L) drive pedal to begin movement.

TO STOP MOWER BLADES Disengage attachment clutch control. without either the entire grass catcher, on CAUTION: Do not operate mowers so equipped, or the deflector shield (S) in place (See Fig. 12). SERVICE REMINDER/HOUR Service reminder shows the total number of hours the engine has run and flashes to indicate that the engine or mower needs servicing. When service is required, the service reminder will flash for two hours. To service engine and mower, see the Maintenance section of this manual.

PURGE TRANSMISSION freewheel lever while the engine CAUTION: Never engage or disengage running. To ensure proper operation and performance, it is recom- mended that the transmission be purged before operating tractor for the first time. This procedure will remove any trapped air inside the transmission which may have devel- oped during shipping of your tractor.

V=BELTS Check V-belts for deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary. The belts are not adjustable. Replace belts if they begin to slip from wear. TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission fan and cooling fins should be kept clean to assure proper cooling.

MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muffler and spark arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fire hazard and/or damage. IN=LINE FUEL FILTER (See Fig. 20) The fuel filter should be replaced once each season. If fuel filter becomes clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carburetor, replacement is required.
SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: TO AVOID SERIOUS iNJURY, BEFORE PERFORMING ANY SERVICE OR ADJUSTMENTS: Depress brake pedal fully and set parking brake. Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" Turn ignition key to "STOP" and remove key. Make sure the blades and all moving parts have completely stopped. Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact with plug.

SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS TO LEVEL MOWER Make sure tires are properly inflated to the PSI shown on tires. If tires are over or under inflated, it may affect the appearance of your lawn and lead you to think the mower is not adjusted properly.
