24 Vdc connector
Connect the power adapter to the 24 Vdc power connector G (Figure 3 on page 7) to provide
power to the printer. This connector should be used only when the 24 V USB communications and
power connector is not used.
Electronic journal card slot
The electronic journal card slot H (Figure 3 on page 7) accommodates the electronic journal card
for storing the electronic journal. Depending on country specific regulations, the electronic journal
is either key lock accessible, always accessible, or accessibly by opening the fiscal assembly.
Electronic journal card slot cover
The electronic journal card slot cover I (Figure 3 on page 7) is a device that can be used as an
additional fiscal security device to secure the electronic journal card in card slot. The slot cover
can also be used as dust cover, when there is no electronic journal card installed in the slot.
Keylock (optional)
The optional keylock J (Figure 3 on page 7) is used to lock the electronic journal card slot cover
in the closed position and secure the installed electronic journal card that contains the electronic
journal.
Note: An optional internal security screw may be installed to secure the electronic journal card
slot cover in the closed position (see Appendix B, "Country specific information," on page 77
for more information on this country specific option)
Fiscal tray cover
The fiscal tray cover K (Figure 3 on page 7) is secured in place with four screws and provides
an extra layer of fiscal security by providing an additional protection against tampering or disabling
the fiscal logic card.
Service jumper
This jumper is used in the fiscalization operation.

Power

The IBM SureMark 4610 Model 1NF printers are powered by connecting a power cord and brick to the
power connector or by connecting a 2 meter USB powered signal cable or 4 meter USB powered signal
cable between the system and the 24 V powered USB port on the back of the printer.
Note: If you are connecting to a system that is not manufactured by IBM. You must connect a power-cord
between the brick and the power-cord connector on the printer.
Using the power-cord and brick
The power-cord and brick are used to supply power to the printer when:
v The printer is connected to the system using the RS-232 connector.
v The printer is connected to a standard USB port (for example, on a non-IBM Point of Sale system.) .

Locating the power reset switch

The power reset switch A (Figure 4 on page 9) for the 4610 Model 1NF single-station printer is located
under the paper door.
