Maintenance chart
ACTION
Drain air line filter daily.
Keep lubricator filled.
Clean filter element — then blow air
through filter in direction opposite to
normal flow.
Clean magazine and feeder
mechanism.
Keep push lever working properly.
Lubricate the Stapler after stapling.
Drain air compressor.
Operator troubleshooting
Most minor problems can be resolved quickly and easily using the table below.
If problems persist, contact a Hitachi authorized service center for assistance.
PROBLEM
Stapler operates but no staple is
driven.
Weak drive.
Slow to cycle.
Drives too deep.
Skipping staples
Intermittent feed.
Staples jam.
Driven staple is bent.
Drives properly during normal
operation, but does not drive fully at
faster stapling speeds.
WHY
Prevent accumulation of moisture and
dirt.
Keep the Stapler lubricated.
Prevent clogging of filter with dirt.
Prevent a jam.
Promote operator safety and efficient
Stapler operation.
Extend the Stapler life.

CHECK METHOD
Check for a jam.
Staple feeder damaged?
Ribbon spring weakened or damaged?
Check for proper staples.
Check air pressure.
Check position of stapling depth
adjuster.

HOW
Open manual petcock.
Fill with Hitachi pneumatic tool
lubricant.
Follow manufacturer's instructions.
Blow clean daily.
Blow clean daily.
Supply 5 – 10 drops of lubricant into
the Stapler.
Open petcock on air compressor tank.
CORRECTION
Clean jam per page 14.
Replace staple feeder.
Replace ribbon spring.
Use only recommended staples.
Increase air pressure.
(Do not exceed 120 psi (8.3 bar, 8.5
kgf/cm 2 ))
Readjust per page 13.
Use Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant.
Contact Hitachi for replacement.
Reduce air pressure.
(Adjust 70 – 120 psi(4.9 – 8.3 bar
5 – 8.5 kgf/cm 2 ))
Readjust per page 13.
