Waypoints
Waypoints are locations you record and store in the device.

Creating a Waypoint

You can save your current location as a waypoint.

Hold DOWN.

Select an option:
• To save the waypoint without changes, select Save.
• To make changes to the waypoint, select Edit, make
changes to the waypoint, and select Save.
Navigating to a Waypoint

Select START > Navigate > Waypoints.

Select a waypoint.
Finding a Waypoint by Name

Select START > Navigate > Waypoints > Spell Search.

Select UP, DOWN, and START to enter all or part of the
waypoint name.

Select Done.

Select the waypoint.
Changing the Search Area

Select START > Navigate > Waypoints > Search Near.

Select an option:
• To search near a waypoint, select Waypoints.
• To search near a city, select Cities.
• To search near your current location, select Current Loc.
Editing a Waypoint
Before you can edit a waypoint, you must create a waypoint.

Hold MENU.

Select User Data > Waypoints.

Select a waypoint.

Select Edit.

Select an item to edit, such as the name.

Select UP, DOWN, and START to enter characters.

Select Done.
Increasing the Accuracy of a Waypoint Location
You can refine a waypoint location for more accuracy. When
averaging, the device takes several readings at the same
location and uses the average value to provide more accuracy.

Hold MENU.

Select User Data > Waypoints.

Select a waypoint.

Select Average Loc..

Move to the waypoint location.

Select Start.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

When the confidence reaches 100%, select Save.
For best results, collect four to eight samples for the waypoint,
waiting at least 90 minutes between samples.
Projecting a Waypoint
You can create a new location by projecting the distance and
bearing from your current location to a new location.

Hold MENU.

Select Tools > Project Waypoint.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
The projected waypoint is saved with a default name.
Deleting a Waypoint

Hold MENU.

Select User Data > Waypoints.

Select a waypoint.

Select Delete > Yes.
Deleting All Waypoints

Hold MENU.

Select Settings > System > Reset > All Waypoints.
Routes
A route is a sequence of waypoints or locations that leads you
to your final destination.
Creating a Route

Hold MENU.

Select User Data > Routes > Create New.

Select First Point.

Select a category.

Select the first point on the route.

Select Next Point.

Repeat steps 4–6 until the route is complete.

Select Done to save the route.
Editing the Name of a Route

Hold MENU.

Select User Data > Routes.

Select Rename.

Select UP, DOWN, and START to enter characters.

Select Edit.

Select a point.

Select an option:
• To view the point on the map, select Map.
• To change the order of the point on the route, select
Move Up or Move Down.
• To insert an additional point on the route, select Insert.
The additional point is inserted before the point you are
editing.
• To add a point to the end of the route, select Next Point.
• To remove the point from the route, select Remove.
