2. CLEANING MODE AND AMOUNT OF INK PURGED

To prevent printing problems due to bubbles, dust, or ink clogging, print head cleaning is performed for all
colors before the start of printing, except in the following cases:
- Cleaning on arrival:
- Cleaning by dot count:
- Manual cleaning / deep cleaning: Performed manually.

If the print head was not
been capped at power-on
At ink tank replacement
At print head replacement
Manual cleaning
Deep cleaning
Performed when the access cover is closed.
Performed after ejection of paper.
Details
First and second cleaning after shipped from
the plant.
When the specified number of dots are
printed from the previous black/color
cleaning. (Cyan and magenta dots are
counted by large and small nozzles
separately.)
If 120 to 336 hours have elapsed since the
previous cleaning till the start of the next
printing.
If 336 hours or more have elapsed since the
previous cleaning till the start of the next
printing.
When the print head is removed and installed.
