    D-Link’s DPR-1040 Print Server allows you to connect a USB Multi-Function Printer (MFP) to your existing Ethernet network. This product lets multiple users print, scan and fax using the connected printer. The DPR-1040 also manages the flow of print files and delivers print jobs quickly and efficiently.
  • Page 7 After the software provided by your printer’s manufacturer is installed, using the printer’s scan and fax functions will be exactly the same as how it’s described in your printer’s manual.     Connector USB Port USB Port The DPR-1040’s USB printer port is located on the rear panel of the device and is configurable using the web configurator. The default IP address of the DPR-1040 is automatically acquired from a DHCP server on the network. If a DHCP server cannot be found the default IP address for the DPR-1040 will be 192.168.0.10.

    The key to maximize wireless range is to follow these basic guidelines: 1. Keep the number of walls and ceilings between the DPR-1040 and other network devices to a minimum. Each wall or ceiling can reduce your D-Link wireless products range from 3-90 feet (1-30 meters).

    Wi-Fi certified 802.11 products including access points, wireless adapters, Wi-Fi phones, and any other consumer electronics devices. For DPR-1040, WPS can be enabled by way of PBC (Push button configuration) method, in which users simply need to push a WPS button on both WPS devices to connect.

    Follow the steps below to avoid any complications during the hardware installation: 1. Confirm that the printer you will use to connect to the DPR-1040 is operating correctly. 2. When you have confirmed that the printer is operating correctly, switch its power OFF.
